Verwilderd
Our project Verwilderd is based on the idea of ‘rewilding’: reintroducing wilderness and letting nature take its course in areas constructed or influenced by humans. In this performance, the collective guides the audience in audibly ‘rewilding’ the concert space.
Music sparks imagination, local sounds recorded from the neighborhood emerge from all around the space, musicians perform on a man-made tree of found objects, and audience members participate in transforming the concert space into a sonic wilderness. Witness, through music, the sensation of slow natural growth over urban façades.
Prior to the performance, Ear to the Earth gives several workshops in collaboration with a social organization. The workshop participants then develop their own section of the later performance from imagining their neighborhood rewilded.
This project premiered during Gaudeamus 2025.
